Welcome to Nicola's dreamy new kitchen-diner - a perfect blend of style and practicality! Nicola wanted an extended space that’s as family-friendly as it is chic, so designer Carly jumped in to make her vision come to life.

"We were having the whole house remodelled and quite quickly we started to realise that we were just so overwhelmed with the detail - the tiles, the flooring, all of the design aspects that we couldn't quite work out in our head what it was going to look like." - Nicola

And so, with a kitchen supplier already on board, we kicked things off with the cabinet styles and colours. As soon as Carly suggested this deep green shade, Nicola was hooked! The colour feels modern yet calming, and when paired with those stunning crittall-style doors that flood the space with natural light, it’s like bringing the outdoors inside.

Oh, and have you seen that barn door on the right? It’s a game-changer! Not only does it give easy access to the utility room without eating up kitchen space, but it also adds a sleek industrial touch to this modern setup.

Now, let’s talk flooring! Nicola was torn between the timeless elegance of parquet and the practicality of vinyl, so we found the best of both worlds: a luxury vinyl that mimics parquet perfectly. It’s spill-proof, kid-proof, and seriously stylish.

And when it came to lighting, Carly nailed that too! Since the space is open-plan, Carly went for a mix of functional and atmospheric lighting. The black and brass pendant lights provide perfect task lighting (strategically hung to avoid any head bumps!) while the wall lights create a cosy, warm glow.

The blend of black, wood, and brass accents ties everything together, giving this kitchen-diner a natural yet moody vibe that feels effortlessly chic.

For the dining area, Nicola needed a large table to fit her family of five comfortably. Our solution? A gorgeous wooden table that’s as durable as it is stylish. Plus, those leather chairs add a warm touch, and they're tough enough to handle everyday life with kids.

And now it's time to enter the serene sanctuary which is the couple's main bedroom that blends farmhouse vibes with a modern twist.

"The most amazing thing  was when it all came back and we saw the visuals and how Carly had managed  to take my muddled thoughts and ideas and put them into this amazing design package!" - Nicola

The standout feature in this space is definitely the gorgeous panelling behind the super king bed, adding texture and a perfect backdrop for the framed posters of her favourite travel spots. It’s a subtle but stylish nod to the places she loves.

The lighting in here strikes the perfect balance, soft and cosy with those low-level bedside sconces, while the large window fills the space with beautiful natural light during the day. It’s a room that feels inviting at any hour.

And though Carly designed this space with minimalist vibes in mind, she made sure to add a touch of natural warmth with green accents, small plants and a rattan light shade.

And the best part? A secret door within the bespoke wardrobes! The door seamlessly blends with the classic, shaker-style wardrobes, creating a "hidden door" effect that adds a bit of mystery to this dreamy retreat.

A stylish en-suite with natural terrazzo tiles

Stepping through the hidden doors, you enter this show stopper of an en-suite! This room was part of Nicola's stylish home extension and is all about terrazzo tiles, sleek brass accents, and smart storage.

Carly suggested these stunning terrazzo tiles with a hint of pink, flowing effortlessly from the floor up the wall. The subtle pink undertones work beautifully with the brushed brass shower head, taps, and accessories, adding a touch of warmth and sophistication.

Storage was a top priority for Nicola, so Carly carefully selected a sleek vanity unit with plenty of drawer space, along with other clever storage solutions to keep the bathroom clutter-free.

And now, we step into the family bathroom, where Nicola was after a more subtle vibe with a splash of blue. The half-white walls keep things crisp and minimal, while the blue herringbone tiles bring a touch of fun and energy to the space.

Since this is a family bathroom, plenty of storage was a must. Carly nailed it with a sleek vanity that offers loads of storage while blending perfectly with the bathroom's style.

And have you noticed all the rounded edges? That’s a thoughtful design choice which is ideal for family homes to prevent any bumps and bruises – and the centred taps in the bath are a clever touch to avoid any head collisions!

Lastly, Nicola wanted to keep things looking neat and minimalist, so Carly created recessed shelving in the alcove shower. The result? A beautifully sleek and clutter-free look that's as stylish as it is practical!

Why Nicola loved working with her Interior Designer

"I found working with my Interior Designer fantastic,  from start to finish it was a lovely experience.

For us initially, we were a bit apprehensive about using an Interior Designer because we thought it was a luxury for people who had huge budgets and grand budgets - so we didn't quite think it was for us. But actually, once we got to meet the designer, Carly, was just amazing.

She put us at ease and all the options that she gave us were just fantastic and she put the budget and everything we had in mind. I couldn't thank Carly enough for what she's delivered for us! "- Nicola
