A calm and serene living space

Starting at the forefront of Laura's charming Edwardian semi, you're greeted by a stunning reception area, a classic feature of period homes like this one.
Bathed in beautiful natural light, this space has been the most recent to undergo a transformation, reflecting Laura's great passion for interior design. Her home has evolved with her personal style over the years, repurposing and reusing elements wherever possible. As her style develops, so does her space, making each corner a testament to her creative journey.
When Laura first moved in, she was welcomed by a rather dated colour scheme. With her keen eye, she quickly realised that a lighter, brighter shade would be perfect for maximising the natural light and creating an airy atmosphere. The current warm neutral shade is the best of both worlds, bouncing light around the room while also creating a cosy, welcoming feel.

At My Bespoke Room, we absolutely adore a green shade, and Laura is definitely a fan too; with its versatility, nod to nature and tranquil vibes, green was a top pick as a feature shade in the front room. Paired with a blue-green feature wall which helps the alcoves, fireplace and floating shelves really pop, it creates a cohesive and serene space that blends modern style with natural elements seamlessly.
The fireplace is a real showstopper in this room, becoming the focal point around which all furniture is anchored around and featuring striking surround tiles which are a great talking point.
Layers of comfort make Laura's living room truly feel like home. From the warm textiles of pillows and rugs to the layers of warm lighting and treasured pieces of décor adorning the alcove walls, every detail reflects her love for design. As the team here at MBR always say, it's all about the details and personal touches that make a house truly feel like a home.

A dramatic black and pink open plan space

Walking further through the house, you're welcomed to one of the spaces that truly showcases Laura's evolving style; her open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area. This is the heart and soul of her home for her family of five. Here, you'll find fun-filled dinners, cosy movie nights, joyful celebrations, and laughter-filled gatherings with friends. It’s a lively, vibrant space brimming with love, joy, and togetherness!
Using clever colour zoning with a deep blue-grey shade, Laura created a cosy and intimate lounge area without losing the open feel. She swapped out acrylic stools and French-style rattan chairs for timeless mid-century dining chairs and sleek modern bar stools, reflecting her current style and helping the space stand the test of time.
The gallery wall is also a stroke of genius, bringing a touch of colour to the more neutral space and helping to make the room feel more cohesive by featuring gold and pink elements.

The dazzling white kitchen hasn't seen much change since being installed - a true testament to how timeless and elegant shaker style cabinets can be. Instead, Laura has simply adapted the little touches, adding in more greenery for a fresher feel and optimising her storage to keep worktops sleek and clean.

A show stopping garden

Leading out of the open plan area, you'll enter Laura's second kitchen - that's right you heard us say 'two kitchens'!
Laura and her family are all about spending time outdoors, when she's not too busy running the show here at MBR, so having a space where all the family can gather outdoors was really important to her. And so incomes the alfresco dining experience!
With a seating space fit to host the entire street, Laura's garden is a real social hub in the summer and it's proof that outdoor seating doesn't need to be boring - by introducing typically indoor elements like cushions, rugs, candles and potted plants, you can make your garden really feel like an extension of your indoor space.

Over in the shade is where the real magic happens: the outdoor kitchen! Complete with prep space, gas BBQ and even a fancy ceramic egg smoker, it's a space fit for a chef.
Laura thought of everything in this space, from tiny décor details that make the outdoor space feel like a real kitchen to the cleverly added bench seat where her girls can keep her company while she cooks. It also sneaks in some hidden storage for outdoor cushions and cooking equipment during the winter!

Woven and wicker elements really bring the natural and joyful feel of bohemian design into the space whilst a picture ledge and aqua sofa help to create a focal point that grounds the space.

A strategically placed dresser maximises the natural light, while the tall pink headboard adds a touch of opulence. It’s the perfect spot to unwind in style.
The tall headboard isn’t just about luxury—it’s also a clever way to make a bold design statement without cluttering the walls with artwork or overloading on décor. If your bedroom is a bit tight on space, this is a stylish solution that keeps things both elegant and uncluttered!

As Laura's family grew, her home had to level up too! The former guest suite has now been transformed into the perfect pink haven for her eldest daughter.
By repurposing some existing furniture, Laura worked her magic to turn the space into a chic, pink paradise. The bold monochrome patterned wallpaper adds a dynamic touch, making the room pop with excitement. Personal touches complete the transformation, turning it into a space that truly feels like her daughter's very own retreat.

A light, natural green nursery
While Laura kept much of the original furniture, she gave the room a fresh twist by painting the ceiling a soft sage green. This not only creates a cosy atmosphere but also adds a charming touch.
Fun floral wallpaper grabs attention and injects personality and colour into the room. It’s a perfect example that small spaces don’t need to be bland, they can absolutely thrive with a splash of fun and creativity!
